Mark my words, Abou Diaby HAS come of age.
He was immense today, Lumpy and Co shat themselves everytime he got the ball and went marauding at them.
Long gone is the clumsy, cumbersome Cartlon Palmer-esque gangly midfielder.
Diaby of old, coming back from yet another niggling injury, would have had a mare today… however, he was THE dominant player on the park today.
He impressed with his box to box play, he defended his own box admirably with last gasp sliding tackles, ran at the opposition with his usual elegant grace and gave it 100% for the entire 75 odd minutes he spent on the pitch.
To be fair, he has been bloody awesome for most of this season, the penny has finally dropped for the lad.
Step forward… the true heir apparent to the throne of King Paddy.
