Nasri and Cesc will both be sold this Summer

July 28, 2011

This is my firm belief, as I don’t for one minute believe the “clever” talk directed from the lips of Arsene Wenger.

He needs to sign replacements for the Spaniard and Frenchman along with bolstering the defence, and he won’t add genuine world-class players to the squad if they believe both players will be sold.

It’s common knowledge that Cesc will go this Summer, his faked injury from the back-end of last season was about the clearest indicator you will ever see that he no longer wants to fight for us.  He accepted it last Summer, and when fit did certainly put the work in for us, but as soon as the season died… so did his love and fight for the Arsenal.  Gone.

With Nasri it seems more up in the air – if you were to believe what Wenger is telling us…. YOU WHAT?  Pass up 25M in a transfer fee from Manchester City and pay him another season of wages, whilst he mopes around putting in zero effort?  You would need to be very silly to buy that one.  Gone.

Barcelona and Manchester City will 100% be the buyers of these players.

I am enjoying all the hype talk surrounding the signing of Spaniard Juan Mata – he would fit in perfectly.  I expressed a view on Twitter around 2 months ago that we would break both our outgoing and incoming transfer records this Summer.  My confidence in this grows by the day.

Having immensely weird feelings of mega confidence with regards to how next season will go for us, every time I think of Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey lining up in the centre of the park with another season wiser Alex Song backing them up, makes me think a lot of motor mouths who have knocked us and continue to knock us will be mostly quiet come the opening months of the season.

Can’t wait for Newcastle away.

ok Cesc hasn’t left because Barca are broke. But why hasn’t Nasri gone as MCFC have funds to purchase him ???

  2. couldn’t agree with you more, i love the idea of mata coming in and I think both will go…I also get very excited by the idea of Ramsey/Wilshere in the middle! Pumped! Good POst!

I was going to have a go until I got to your last paragraph for your lack of faith in the arsenal, and for that I salute you. I still feel you are looking at these two transfers with too much media fueled gossip. Why can’t we wait until someone gets sold or the transfer window closes before we start talking about how much club X tried to bid for a certain player. Likewise, can we not wait to see if a player who ‘apparently’ does not want to play for us will play well? Speculations yet no answers.

    nope, wrong!

cesc will stay because barca will fail to pay up and nasri will be sold he will refuse to sign if cesc stays. he wants central role and possibly be our next captain. and mancini is happy to get him off our hands

why is everyone talking about mata being the fabregas replacement.. mata is a winger more comparable to arshavin..

with the form of alacantra i can see barca investin in him and letting fabrehas stay..

  9. Sam, Nasri doesn’t care if he gets the central role he’s not signing either way and he definitely doesn’t want to be Captain…

Ramsey and Wilshere will give us a lot of fight and passion, something we need to break this trophy drought. Carefully analyzing United’s team, you see there is more graft and less talent than at the Arsenal, but talent alone wins you fuck all. Their midfield is mediocre and their strike force is similar, but they do put more numbers in the box so percentages go for them. Also, they’re defense isn’t naive. We have great individual defenders, only Koscielny and Pepe from Madrid have kept Messi quiet this season. Communication is vital. The thought that Samba or Cahill will solve our problems is foolish. We may slightly improve on set pieces but we will lose a lot of talent in regards to defending open play. There is nothing wrong with our actual defense. The problem lies in the defense played by the entire team.

And regarding Cesc. He’ll leave if Barca offer the money. Cesc understands the situation and that is the main reason he’s not talking. This “he isn’t talking due to a loyalty bonus” is bollocks. The man is willing to take a paycut to join Barca. His ambition is not money. He loves the team slightly more than he loves Arsenal. Personally, I think it’d serve his career better if he stayed with us for 2 more seasons.

Tell Barca we’ll take 20 million and Thiago for Cesc straight up. His two goals against Bayern yesterday were top quality. Mata will be Brilliant at Arsenal if he comes.

  16. Wilshere my boy will fight for us together with Ramsey and Song will be the new three musketeers.

if we get thiago, mata, benzema, edin and samba….really…believe me…love will be in air at emirates…!!!!

  21. Nasri will sign a new contact immediately Desd goes. And talking of Cesc, it’d be counter procuctive if he stays. Barca have succeeded in unsettling him to the point Fabregas has lost all regards of Arsenal fans. However smart he playd it by letting Xavi and co voice his feelings, Fabregas is nothing but an ingrate!

Mata will be a great signing. If he comes, then Walcott’s moving to the middle is a welcome certainty. We don’t need Benzema.

Lets sell both Fab and Nasri and get Denilson back from Brazil ASAP to fill the gap!

  25. there’s no need flogging a dead horse, to me cese is at the peak of his form but unknown to him. Wenger should let him go and use the proceed from his exit for signing of capable and willing players. After all almighty Henry and dribbling Hleb head for the same Barca, how far?. Until he gets to camp nou he will no the inherent danger of bench warming in his profession

Mata will be a guest at the Emirates Cup this weekend. Will sign on Monday after weekend medical. £14.5m rising to £21m with add-ons. And is signing (not confirming this bit) on the proviso Fabregas will be here for the season. Anyway, its a done deal unless the medical fails.
