Merson: I worry for Arsenal

September 11, 2010

Former gooner favourite, and one of my personal all time great gunners, the magic man merse himself has just suggested on SKY TV that he is worried about Arsenal against Bolton this afternoon.

Rubbish, absolute twaddle… is he back on the sauce?

Today, minus Vermalen, RvP, Theo, and maybe Cesc, who I think should be rested… we will show our true strength in-depth.

Starting with the fabulously gritty, determined, edgy, tough-nut Squillaci at centre half, who will take no prisoners this afternoon.

I fear for Davies and Co if they take liberties with the new French defender, he will have them on toast… if you are a betting man/woman, take the odds on Seb-Squil being shown a card at the Emirates today.

He gets stuck right in!

Midfield will see Song take up the DM role, with Diaby in the box-to-box CM role, a role he played to perfection for France against Bosnia last Tuesday, check you tube, there is an immense compilation of his performance, he was magnificent, and will continue that form today, he is the key man for me today.

Cesc? Rosicky? or Jack? for the free midfield role?

My order would be Jack, Rosicky then Cesc for today.

Why Cesc last? He has just done 10 thousand air miles inside 5 days. Case closed.

Up front Chamakh will lead the line flanked by Arshavin and then hopefully Vela, but more likely Eboue or Rosicky.

A team minus our 4 best players will take the field today, a team that will take Bolton apart, a team that will show merse and then rest of the naysayers just what a quality squad we have this term.

Come on you mighty, mighty ARSENAL!

well spend long enough in an asylum any one can turn into a bit loon and it seems that Merce is no exception but then mind you if he was to say that this will be all easy to Arsenal there will no excitement in the build up, just sky trying to spice up/ build up the game as they always do
